I got a 8th edition from oct 1904 was my great grand fathers the one that you show here is 12th ed. from april 1914

Subject: Incorrect Edition Date

Using the inside front cover page as "page one" for the purposes of locating the pertinent page, at the top of the fifth page, the information given identifies this book as the 12th edition, from April 1910, not 1902.
In fact, at the bottom of the following page (sixth page in) the original first edition copyright date is given as 1901.
